Not that I know of, which is a bad thing for the reason you mention.

Do we have a machine that we could store these backups on? It would be a simple 
thing to create a cron job that goes to the wiki and does a database dump every 
night or so.

Seeing this, is anyone maintaining our wiki (I mean in terms of making a
backup in case that free provider goes down with our pages)? It would be
