I'm unsure what the driver return values should currently be.
Your local files besides eth.c might need some fixes as well.
I'll investigate this a little more, since I also have to update
from 0_7_1 or something.

There are lwip files, and contribution (contrib) files.
The contrib ones come from your supplier and make up
the target specific "driver". The core lwip funtions in
the lwip directory are (should be) platform independant.
