it's weird that Seq and Ack are the same here...
it this the whole traffic or is it filetered by ethereal for this
connection?

Are you using the latest from CVS? It had some tcp active open fixes.
Also did you see Tom Barker's mail of 16th Jan subject
TCP_EVENT_CONNECTED: call ordering ? Maybe unrelated but still it's
related to tcp active open.
