I was facing some login issues in Savannah and so could not post a followup comment. Had to create a new account for that.
There is probably some value in having a basic routing table implementation in LwIP, at least as a reference. Applications using multiple netifs to cater to different networks would find this useful.
Based on some of the comments, it might be worthwhile to split this patch into two parts:
1. The standalone static route table implementation, viz the ipv6_route_table.c,h. There were a couple of bugs here that have been fixed but not uploaded to this forum yet.
2. A separate patch to existing LwIP core code to use a reference routing table implementation.
