Hi,

I don't see the clear advantage of doing that, is the following unacceptable
for you:

while(1) {
  /* get the lowest timeout for lwIP timeouts and yours timeouts */
  uint32_t timeout = MIN(sys_timeouts_sleeptime(),
yours_timeouts_sleeptime());
  select-like-function(......, timeout);
  sys_check_timeouts();   /* run lwIP timeouts */
  yours_check_timeouts(); /* run yours timeouts */
}
