Funny that using lwIP PPP leads to finding bugs in the original sources ;-)

You mentioned a dead loop here, is that really solved by adding the
UNTIMEOUT()?

I guess when a PPP developer gives his OK for this, it should be pretty safe
to check in... I'll try to debug it today.
