OK, then we'd better put a big WARNING in the change log/release notes
Because this will break a lot of applications.

I still have a question, according to
http://www.opengroup.org/pubs/online/7908799/xns/setsockopt.html

SO_BROADCAST is only for sending broadcast messages, not for filtering 
broadcast packets on reception.
Or is there another doc describing this behavior ?

You can also encounter your problem if someone is sending unicast messages to 
your device...
