Isn't that the cas with GIT too?

I agree. Here cames my strong argument AGAINST mercurial: it look from
here that it just one more VC (remember bazaar?). there might be tools
to migrate TO Mercurial, but certainly not FROM it...

I even would say: why bother with anything different from GIT?
