I think I suggested this back when we discussed the restructuing of the
repository contrib areas... I still think it's a good idea.
As a new user, a sample driver for my device that interfaces to lwIP
properly as a starting point is certainly better than nothing... even if
there are OS dependencies to work around. And for most drivers, I am
hoping those would be minimal anyway.

Subject: [lwip-devel] contrib module: add netif drivers
Hi all,
I just wanted to make a short poll about adding a third directory
directly under the contrib module, named 'netif_drivers' or 'drivers'.
The first driver I would move there would be the driver currently
located in the msvc6 port, since it is a rather generic driver for using
the packet-library, which should be available on many systems.
A problem would be of course to keep drivers free from deoendencies to
OS, compiler and other platform related code (the lwIP sys layer can be
used).
But maybe it's not that important after all?
Simon
