Follow-up Comment #7, task #7490 (project lwip): The "poster" of the data is the only one who can know what SHOULD happen if the mbox post fails -- and the correct behavior will depend on which mbox it is. Therefore, I don't think the problem can be solved inside the sys_arch file.
