Samba is not available in the flash based file system.  Samba is quite large and does not fit in the allocated flash space.  You can run samba if you boot with the hard disk based file system.  You can boot this using the u-boot macro by running the following command:
"run flashhdboot"

Subject: [Ltib] samba service

Hi,
I'm using Freescale MPC8349ITX board, which is a NAS device. It uses samba service.I wanna know if the linux system on the on-board flash already has samba service,so I only have to start it,or I must re-compile the kernel using LTIB and add samba service into the system?
    Thank you!
                                  sincerely yours
