Hi Jeff and all!
I haven't checked in detail but this has all the marks of the bug
documented in a footnote in Section 2.8 of the User's Guide. Try
enclosing "et" in double quotes.
Regarding this bug I tried to render the following reference:
{ @Reference
   @Tag{ ref1 }
   @Label{ ref1 et al. 2098 }
   @Type{ Book }
   @Title{ a b c d e f g h i j k l m n o p q r s t u v w x y z}
}

However, the title is being rendered as:
"a c d e g j k l n o q yes u v x y z"
so some of the characters (b, f, h, i, m, p, r, s, t, w) are not being rendered at all. One of those is being transformed into a "yes". As shown previously, this problem also prevails for words with two-characters (or more). Since an explicit binding of those characters is not obvious, is'nt it possible to fix the bug you mentioned in order to improve louts reliability?

Cheers
Volker
