@Char trademark - lout says it's not there, but it's in the AFM

Hi:

I'm using the Computer Modern SF library, and the AFM appears to have a
trademark line, but Lout says it doesn't exist.  Am I reading this right?

/usr/local/share/lout/font/sfrm1095.afm:
