Newbie question

As a relative new-comer to Lout, I am enjoying the product and the quality
of output that it delivers. My question follows:

I am generating a report, using a modified version of the report file. I
have some figures and tables that I would like to see displayed in the
table of contents section (under their own lists of course), but I get the
following message:

157,1: no @FigureContentsPlace precedes or follows this
@FigureContentsPlace&&foll_or_prec
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

157 is the first instance of @Figure in my report.

I read somewhere (maybe in user's manual) that only the "book" form allows
lists of figures and tables, but the options seemed to be available in the
"report" form.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
