Inserting pages before the TOC in a book doc?

Hi,

I suppose this must be trivial but I'd like to have an Acknowledgements
section, a "List of papers" and a dedication page prior to the table of
contents in a Lout Book document. I only see the Preface special word that
ends up before the TOC and I cannot simply write text outside of the
chapters etc. So how can I do it?

I should be able to find it in the users guide but I don't right now and
I need to get my thesis done by monday so: Can you point me to some
relevant section in the user's guide?
