There is no way to work around this automatically.  I suppose you
could manually replace it with

   "http://"; @ExternalLink { MyFavouriteWebsite }
   "myurl.net" @ExternalLink { MyFavouriteWebsite }

if you know it is going to need it, but Lout does not understand
this kind of transformation and won't do it for you.
