That was discussed recently, check list archives.  Basicly - the
problem is that you don't have Palatino Type1 font.  Check the

    C:\Acrobat\Reader\Fonts

or something like this, the directory name should be obvious.  You'll
see there only the "basic" Adobe's fonts.  If you'll obtain a Palatino
font and put the font file into this directory, I guess it should
work.

Hmm, grab a GhostScript distribution and check the Fontmap for the
substitute they use for Palatino (URWPalladioL).  Tweak the font file
so that it thinks it's Palatino and fdrop it in.  The metrics are
slighly different but it's still pretty good approximation.
