breaking URLs

I've already implemented a similar solution to Uwe's in the @URL
field of references.  My advice to people who want to put URLs
into references is to use the @URL field:

    { @Reference
         @Tag { fun1997 }
         @Type { TechReport }
         @Title { ... }
         @Author { ... }
         @URL {  http://somewhere.somewhereelse/dir/dir/dir/file }
    }
