 FWIW I don't think you're going to find clang-format useful. I've tried to
make it format the code according to the lmi rules, but it's not flexible
enough for this, there are a lot of unavoidable differences, and I was so
sure you were not going to agree to have it run amok your existing code
that I didn't even propose using it. Of course, perhaps I was totally wrong
about it...
