Fwiw, same problem here, for chat history date as well, debian testing,
but running the 'upstream' appimage:
Desktop 4.2.4 - Qt5.12.5
Core 4.4.19
The android version has it right though, so if I start a chat with a
contact, say May 29, 2021 late night (local time) and the contact
answers, on the desktop version I see:
Friday, May 28, 2021
23:27 'Contact' Blablabla ...
But on Android:
29/05, 23:27 - 'Contact'
Blablabla ...
This (minor) bug is in the desktop version for as long as I can
remember (several years). The local time is (and has always been)
correct.

ps: fwiw, I also reported the bug to the debian maintainers,
983369@bugs.debian.org, on Feb 21, 2021, mentioning that the
bug 'also occurs upstream', but never received an answer
