It is possible, but not without some considerable patching to the
automake stuff, in particular the paths that assume MSYS environment
rather than a generic MinGW one (eg. it expects to load Windows libs
from /usr/lib rather than from wherever MinGW is, as on Linux
/usr/lib contains only Linux libraries). I have built the console
part of Linphone and some plugins in the past. I vaguely remember
posting some of my patches related to this to this mailing list in
the past (and a lot of thanks goes to one of the other members for
