iLBC is a free low-bitrate codec with forward error correction -- see http://www.ilbcfreeware.org
Interestly enough, the software distribution is inside the internet-draft.I have mediastreamer/test_ilbc working now, but linphone-to-linphone it is still crashing while negotiating codecs if I try to force ilbc.
