Hmm. That example, using explicit ties like e.g. <c _~ d ^~> now works fine for me, exactly duplicating your MIDI piano roll. Needs further investigation by me. However, using <c d> ~ is the answer I was unaware of for years! I never thought to _not_ put a direction specifier. Andrew
