lyric align with utf-8

Someone in this user list provided lyric alignment that is to ignore the punctuation mark. However whenever there is TIE or SLUR the alignment is off.  I am not able to modify the include_lyric-align.ly Please refer to !, 2 and  3 in the image below.

Can someone help?
