Reading through that page I don't see any options that look like helping with this problem.

I thought

line-width
line-width=size\unit

Set line width to size, using unit as units. unit is one of the following strings: cm, mm, in, orpt. This option affects LilyPond output (this is, the staff length of the music snippet), not the text layout.

Might use a different mechanism and provide what was needed.


(BTW: The OP _did_ explicitly ask for lilypond-book ...)

Well, he asked whether it had a mechanism, but explicitly said he was not using it.
