If I try txt = \lyricmode { \set lyricMelismaAlignment = #CENTER \override LyricHyphen #'minimum-distance = #1 \markup \abs-fontsize #16 { blah blah blah } } it is equivalent to the { blah_blah_blah }. Three words relative to the first note.
