Well, the example could have been a lot more minimal. In particular,
having several separate Midi tracks with different behavior (one with,
one without problem) did not really help. It is conceivable that this
contributed to masking the problem at first: indeed Rosegarden shows
different events for the two tracks in measure 2, and since they look
superficially identical, I apparently looked at the non-affected Midi
track first.
