I really do not see the need for this. (And btw don't think it would be possible with current lilypond) Why would you like to be able to say \hardbar "||" instead of \increaseBarNumber\bar "||" ?(ofcourse you could rename the \increaseBarNumber function to something shorter - e.g. \ibn thereby getting \ibn\bar "||")
