Thanks. Unfortunately I still have a few glitches in the areas I had
identified as
problems. Please be patient, as I am a novice at this ... I'd be grateful for
assitance
interpreting the docco or the methods:
1) For some reason I can not suppress the dots from the colliding notes.. I
thought
\property Voice.Dots \set #'transparent = ##t would suppress the ones I do not
want, but
that does not seems to be the case. I do notice that Dot is in context Thread
(inside
Voice) - does this mean I need to set up a Thread context to manipulate the
dots?
2) I can adjust the stem using Voice.Stem properties. Although they seem to
be relevant,
I do not understandf the following (found at
http://lilypond.org/stable/Documentation/user/out-www/lilypond-internals/Stem.html#Stem)
- flag-style (symbol) ... what are valid values for symbol (better yet, where
do I find
out?)
- length (number) ... what does the 'number' mean (staff spaces, points, inches,
millimeters?)
- lengths (list) ... does this mean a stem with no flags is length 3.5, 1 flag
is 3.5, etc?
3) Since this entire question is related to collisions, should I be looking at
the
Collision_engraver and the NoteCollision grobs (Staff context)? If so, this
will require a
diffeent level of understanding from what I have right now; for example, I
assume
merge-differently-dotted would help, but how do I 'position' this around a
specific set of
colliding grobs without affecting the rest of the system? Any examples?
Again, many thanks for the help so far
/Hans
