I usually try the following things:
- Increase the printing area on the paper:
\score {
...
\paper{
textheight=28.0\cm
...
}
}
- Decrease the space between the score lines:
\score {
...
\paper{
interscoreline = 1.0\mm % Default: 4.0\mm
...
}
}
- If you decrease interscoreline, I also recommend to set
interscorelinefill = 1
which will cause the score lines to be evenly spaced on
the available vertical space. Then you could even set
interscoreline=0
