the code

{ \[ c'1  \] }

produces 16 warnings:

Found infinity or nan in output.  Substituting 0.0

and the ligature bracket isn't drawn.

the same code one octave higher { \[ c''1  \] } has correct output.

this has been reported by Peter Toye in

the older issue #823 responding to  
http://lilypond.1069038.n5.nabble.com/Ligaturebrackets-not-printed-after-line-break-tt80392.html#a80393  
seems somehow related or shows a workaround to produce just horizontal  
brackets.
