[ this is getting off-topic for libtool ]

Hi Paolo,

Well, the question is do you prefer to only have selected patches
backported or just GCC update to the latest git Libtool at some
convenient point, e.g., in order to also benefit from these:

6769a76 Fix versioning computation for QNX.
2af6f65 Fix GNU nm invocation for AIX.
1988012 Build AIX shared libraries with binutils 2.19.50+.
94537d1 Fix cross compilation for HPPA/64 with a BSD file command.

and an unknown-to-me number of w32-related improvements?

In the latter case, the questions are, when would such a convenient
point be reached in Libtool (I need to go through Chuck's pending
patches anyway, not only to see what regressions I've missed), and
whether that can be made to fit in whatever time frame is left in GCC
Stage 1.

Cheers,
Ralf
