Interesting.  After running the failed test, please post the output of

  cd tests/testsuite.dir/09
  ../../../libtool --debug -n --mode=link --tag=CC gcc -framework Cocoa \
    -framework ApplicationServices -o libbaz.la baz.lo libboth.la \
-no-undefined -rpath /usr/local/lib
