Hi Peter, Gary,

Hi Ralf, Peter:

It also removes the now unnecessary loop to remove convenience libraries from deplibs. This loop was added because of the -all_load flag on darwin and now that there is no all_load flag on darwin it is no longer necessary.

When was that loop added? I can't find it now.
(And that -all_load is gone for a year, right?)

The removal of these loops should speed up link times a little, but I don't
have numbers.

Okay for HEAD?

Is this actually resolving a bug?

We can call it a link execution time regression, how about that?

If it is just backing out an old patch, then maybe I can be persuaded. But otherwise, we need to concentrate on getting 2.0 out (minor bugs and all)!

If not, then HEAD is now frozen[1] until we branch again for 2.0, so
you'll have to hold off for a week or two.

How much money are you going to bet on the time frame? :)

What odds will you give me? (I have some unused holiday, and a bucket of
pro-plus...)

To avoid losing it, feel free to file a TODO
at http://tkd.kicks-ass.net/GnuLibtoolProject/ToDo and attach the
patch... I'll test and apply it after we branch.

Cheers,
    Gary.
