Your work is clearly important. There is some code (e.g. based on ATL or MFC) which can only be built using MSVC so having the ability to drive MSVC with GNU build tools is a benefit.

For my project, the vast majority of the software can be built under MinGW using a similar configuration to a MSVC build. However, there are two components which can not because they use MFC or ATL. If these components could be built from the same environment it would result in huge time-savings for me.

Once MSVC support is fully working, then there is opportuntity to add enhancements to build Microsoft .net assemblies/applications as well.
