Hi Peter!

And even supported platforms, since we can never test all combinations
prior to each release.

But we have stalled the 2.0 release mostly so that we can fix that
problem, so (assuming I can figure out how to fix it) if release 2.0
needs a change to configure.ac in order to keep working then it is a
bug in libtool.

(As an aside, following that argument to its logical conclusion, there
is no need to keep my controversial parallel install patch in HEAD --
so long as we continue to take great care not to break backwards
compatibility.)

My point exactly. But I will consider them as bugs when they are
pointed out to us :-)

:-D

If you have time, I would be interested to hear confirmation that a
2.13 project (there's plenty in Gnome and Enlightenment) will continue
to bootstrap and build correctly with the head of branch-1-5 plus
whatever ancient automake and autoconf the maintainer is still using...

Does anyone have any objections to dropping official support for 2.13
in branch-2-0? We need to start dragging people into the late 20th (sic)
century :-)

Cheers,
        Gary.
