libtoolize: warning: no serial number on ...

With latest branch 2.0 I see this message while executing the 
installed libtoolize under Solaris 9:

libtoolize: warning: no serial number on 
`/usr/local/share/aclocal/ltversion.m4', not copying.

and m4/ltversion.m4 is not updated.

Later while building the software I encounter this error:

libtool: Version mismatch error.  This is libtool 1.9g, revision 1.1667.2.88,
libtool: but the definition of this LT_INIT comes from revision 1.1667.2.78.
libtool: You should recreate aclocal.m4 with macros from revision 1.1667.2.88
libtool: of libtool 1.9g and run autoconf again.

% ls -l /usr/local/share/aclocal/ltversion.m4
-rw-r--r--   1 root     other        433 Nov 26 10:47 
/usr/local/share/aclocal/ltversion.m4

Manually copying the file leads to success.
