Grr.  There are a LOT of broken libtool 1.4.3's out there.  Basically the 
changes
get the dependencies right, and fix the places where $LD was used for 
shared libraries and $CC should have been used.

One of the MAJOR apps that needs this is PHP, without these changes, you 
can't build PHP as a DSO for Apache.

What are the chances of a 1.4.4 release ?

I'm NOT pleased.
