Well, I guess I can hold off 1.4b a little longer ;-)

In all seriousness, I think that HEAD has gained enough code to warrant my 
first (late!) monthly release this weekend.  Since we are already more-orless 
in feature freeze on HEAD after the MLB merge, I hope we can shake the bugs 
out with 2 or three monthly alpha releases and aim for 1.5 before the end of 
September.

FYI, I have cleared the backlog in libtool-patches now, though I have a lot 
of messages unread in address@hidden and address@hidden

Yuck!  I've taken the opportunity to rework the bootstrap script slightly and 
remove some of the redundancy that was in there.  Thanks for the patch!
