 Done. I commited everything but the dlopen support for .o/.lo which
 can't be easily ported to MLB.

 What are your plans about merging MLB into HEAD?

 How about a three step merger?

 1. start with a new ChangeLog file, port tags support, update documentation
 2. port new object file handling
 3. port lt-cf*/ltconfig to libtool.m4, add the new demo programs+tests

 Do you want to copy the MLB ChangeLog to HEAD or summarize the changes?
 I personally prefer the latter. That's what I did when I merged
 the ILD-branch into HEAD.
