I believe the below patch, or something similar, is necessary on SCO 5
(OpenServer and UnixWare) for the reasons stated in the comments.
I don't know quite what goes wrong when -lc is added, but it
definitely needs to be omitted. GMP in particular suffers the ctype.h
problems mentioned.
* libtool.m4 (*-*-sco3.2v5*): Don't use -lc on shared libraries.
