Summary: my name is Leah. please call me that now if you ever meet me
publicly.
IRC log of #libreboot today (vimuser is me):
2016-05-05 19:43:47 @vimuser so... there's never a good
time to come out publicly. doesn't matter if I do it now, or in 2
years from now. I'd rather do it now, because I'm going insane by not
doing it.
2016-05-05 19:43:47 @vimuser I've recently started using a
different name privately with all my friends. Most core libreboot
developers know me by this name too, and have kept it private. Please
call me Leah from now on (or just vimuser. since... that's my name on
IRC). And please don't he, sir or dude me. I'm not a guy. Libreboot
was founded by a woman (me. I'm transgender).
2016-05-05 19:43:47 @vimuser This is why I push commits now
and list my copyrights under my company name recently. I was "hiding".
I don't want to hide anymore. I've already started transitioning
(early stages. currently just cosmetics. I'm looking for a way to
start on voice training)
2016-05-05 19:43:47 * vimuser will get back to what she was
doing, and hopes noone makes a big deal out of all of this. I'm
normal, just like everyone else. I just want to get on with my life,
and continue working on libreboot/minifree.
2016-05-05 19:43:47 @vimuser I'll probably continue using
my company name on my commits though. It looks more professional IMO,
and I'm currently undecided on a surname. I have one I've chosen that
I really like, but I'm only 95% sure I'll keep it.
2016-05-05 19:43:47 @vimuser nully: thum: tpearson:
paulk-collins and others: it's safe to call me Leah in public now. I
don't care anymore.
2016-05-05 19:44:08 @vimuser now I'm going to have a heart
attack and be super nervous while cycling home, and be paranoid all day
2016-05-05 19:45:42 thum allrighty then :)
2016-05-05 19:47:59 --> jarhead
(address@hidden) has joined #libreboot
2016-05-05 19:48:57 SylvieLorxu vimuser: You know you have my
respect and support, and I'm sure many will follow me :)

2016-05-05 19:50:03 SylvieLorxu And the few that may not, if
any such people are even around here, they need YOU for THEIR security
and privacy, you don't need them, so that's their issue, not yours :)
2016-05-05 19:50:23 SylvieLorxu But I'm sure you'll see the
feedback will be overwhelmingly positive
2016-05-05 19:50:59 thum isn't "overwhelmingly positive" an
oxymoron? ;)
2016-05-05 19:51:04 jarhead Hello what did I miss?
2016-05-05 19:52:20 GNUtoo-irssi paulk-collins: did you push
your changes in a branch?
2016-05-05 19:53:50 GNUtoo-irssi vimuser: no need to be
paranoid on that
2016-05-05 19:55:00 GNUtoo-irssi That kind of freedom is
progressing
2016-05-05 19:55:54 GNUtoo-irssi This is something that is
pushed strongly by the establishment in many countries
2016-05-05 19:56:04 GNUtoo-irssi so no need to fear
2016-05-05 19:56:12 GNUtoo-irssi on some other countries it's
the opposite
2016-05-05 19:56:32 GNUtoo-irssi I belive that in England it's
pushed by the establishment
2016-05-05 19:57:03 GNUtoo-irssi I strongly support such
rights, but not the establishment
