Hi,Oh I don't worry about bugs found by users - I am happy about them, as it is motivating to see the compiler in use! So don't stop reporting bugs, please.
So If you want to refer to a specific version I think it is best to give exactly this commit string but mostly it will not be necessary I think. I consider the chance, that a specific bug is fixed in the meantime between your testing and your report rather low. Meaning: mostly it will still be in the HEAD of the reposititory, if you have checked it with a more or less recent git version.
If you are rellay convinced, that your issue is a bug in the compiler or libs you might even prepare a test case which shows the problem. Then we can easily integrate it into the testsuite and see the problem and ensure, that it will never be reintroduced again ;-)

Hi,If I find a bug in, let us say, Adler, and I then check it using the latest git clone, how should I refer to that git clone whenn reporting the bug? Surely there's something shorter than the huge string in the .tgz file such as:liberty-eiffel-59993186aa267e675c5553d8bf16ccc9c68ea052.tar.gz (Don't worry, I haven't found another bug, I'm just being prepared) Laurie
