------- Comment #1 from address@hidden 2008-01-22 05:04 -------
Hrmm... either I really misunderstand the type/category logic or it is broken.
It appears that after creating two categories of type "Staff" the five
hard-coded
types alone show up when adding a new patron. So I select type "Adult" and
lower on the resulting form I am presented with the opportunity to select a
category for this patron of one of the five types. Since I only have categories
under type "Staff" I am limited to selecting one of those. This is expected.
What becomes confusing is the fact that I can create a patron of type "Child"
and select a category of type Adult/AC-FACULTY which is a category for faculty
members of a k-12 academy. So the question appears: Is the patron now a member
of both the "Child" type and the "Adult" type?
It appears to me (and I may be misunderstanding here) that categories should be
a subfield of type (ie. type.category) and that the patron ought to be a member
of a category so that we have type.category.patron. The way it stands it
appears that patron is a member of both type and category and that category is
a member of type as well.
Am I totally off here? If so, please feel free to correct me.
