Hi Don,

First and foremost, I wish you and everyone on this mailing list a very happy and prosperous 2021.

Thank you very much for this detailed explanation, I really appreciate your help. I'll give it a try as soon as festivities-related family time allows me to.

As for helping Jaime, I'd love to but last I touched C++ was some 20 years ago so I fear I may be quite rusty in this regard.

Copy all of column A into a something.dat file and then click Tools -> Update Satellite Data in Klog, and find the file you just created.  I tested this on my install and it did not cause any problems that I can see.  I went through TQSL and  the AMSAT site added all of the entries that I had missed; if I still missed anything let me know.

You can shorten the list to only the satellites that you use by going into settings and remove entries that you do not want.

If you open the 1st worksheet (UPDATES) in the link above, you can see the data used for generating computed_sats.dat.

I know Jaime has accepted help from others in the past, so if you are really good at programming and have the skills to do this better reach out to him!  A few options could be, http://www.ne.jp/asahi/hamradio/je9pel/satslist.htmhttps://www.n2yo.com/api/, and https://db.satnogs.org/ | https://wiki.satnogs.org/SatNOGS_DB/API.

Hi Don,

Thanks for getting back to me on this. Is there a URL from where I could download this list?

Hi Jaime,

I use KLog 1.4.4 on macOS High Sierra. I've imported my ADIF export from another logging application and it appears KLog doesn't know about RS-44; all my QSOs via RS-44 contain "Other - Sat not in the list" as satellite name:

I tried to "Update Satellite Data" but all I got was this prompt:

The offending log entry is:

<call:6>2M0SQL <qso_date:8:d>20201223 <time_on:6>115455 <band:4>70cm <mode:3>SSB <ant_path:1>S <cont:2>EU <cqz:2>14 <distance:6>702.00 <dxcc:3>279 <gridsquare:6>IO87ip <ituz:2>27 <lat:9>57.645833 <lon:9>-3.291667 <my_country:7>England <my_gridsquare:6>IO91ll <my_lat:9>51.479167 <my_lon:9>-1.041667 <my_name:9>Kristijan <operator:5>M0NKC <owner_callsign:5>M0NKC <prop_mode:3>SAT <qsl_rcvd:1>N <qsl_sent:1>N <qslrdate:8>20201226 <qslsdate:8>20201226 <sat_name:5>RS-44 <station_callsign:5>M0NKC <time_off:6>115455 <EOR>

I believe KLog should accept RS-44 because LoTW has no issues with it and I routinely confirm QSOs with satellite name as above. How can I fix this?
