Hello Art,

What version of KLog are you using?

Check your ~/.klog folder and tell me which files you can find there.

Just to be agile... with KLog off... move the ~/.klog files to another place and start KLog  to see if that fix the problem.

It looks it is a new installation of KLog,  isn't it?

Regarding the problem of no finding KLog. .. I will check Mint... it looks an issue of the packaging and I don't manage ... but I will check it anyway.

1. There's no evidence where it got installed. It does not show up in Mint's "All Applications" list. I found the Klog executable by a search of the entire drive. Yes, did restart the PC just in case, that didn't do anything.

2. Right now I'm stuck on the "choose a log type" entry window. I've entered something in every box but it still says "categories not OK" and the OK box is grayed out. Cannot proceed beyond this window.

NB: the "Type of Operation" choice is stuck on "DX" and does not pull down with more types.
