Ok,
First let me copy the mailing list, maybe this thread is usefull for some
other people or maybe other people can help us to fix this.

The messages that you see on the console when you execute KLog are normal
and are not a sign of any error.

To connect your equipment to KLog you have to:
1.- Connect your rig to the computer.
2.- Know what port are you connecting your rig to (/dev/ttyS0, /dev/ttyS1,
/dev/ttyUSB0, ...)
3.- Set the appropriate privileges in the port you have connected your rig
/to in order to allow your user to access to it in rw mode. You can add your
user to the group that owns the file and chmod that file to give read+write
/privileges to the group to that file.
4.- Get the number that hamlib gives to your rig (brand/model)[1] ie, the
/FT-1000MarkV is the 104.
5.- With the comnmand "rigctl" try to access to your rig.

if you can access your rig with rigctl... you should be able to access with
the same parameters using KLog.

However you should be able to access from KLog setting the appropriate
device and number once you have privileges to read/write on the device file.

Good luck and keep us informed!
