Bonjour Yves,
Hello,
First of all, i want to thank you to speak in french. But unfortunately
this list is in english, i am not sure that all subscribers understand
french.
The main ftp site is at:
ftp://ftp.crihan.fr/mirrors/knoppix-mib.org/ . The last iso is
k-mib-ppc-beta-pre10.iso
The only scsi module on it is advansys. Mesh and aic7xxx are compiled
directly in thje kernel. Unfortunately it seems the scsi_cdrom support
is missing in my kernel. I will redo an iso to correct that.
Have you copied le kernel and the initrd from cdrom to Bootx system
folder? Anyway it seems that works.
I have never try bootx to boot the CD. I know somebody success with.
Apparently that works fine with ide CD.
mount -t iso9660 -o ro /dev/sr0 /cdrom
You can do "echo /cdrom/*" to check the mount is correct. The linuxrc
script assumes cdrom is on scdx...
mount -t ext2 -o remount,rw /dev/root /
Strange. I will check that. maybe a boot option is missing?
Yes, SCSI is OK.
If the machine is an oldworld pmac, i can't do a bootable cdrom. AFAIR
the bootable part is non free. Maybe i can try to do bootable floppy,
but the kernel needs to lost some kB.
You need BootX or quick, AFAIR. Look into the debian-ppc installation
pages, there are some explanations.
In the next iso, if it's in the kernel it will be compiled in module.
This is a keyboard problem, not a mozilla problem. If you use a fr_new
for X and console keyboard you have all the french caracters:
éàèùæÆêÊ... You can do copy/paste from OOo and use insert special
character in OOo.
