To: Olivier & Tamakh,

I give up. I need somebody's help and I'll pay you if I have to. I'm
using Fedora 7, but I'll change to any os if prefer. I would like to
just have someone ssh in my test box and setup the jail. I want four

1. An SFTP server that allows me to just jk_adduser to add a new users.
2. A jail that wont allow users to see other users. If that is not
possible then I'll just create one jail per user.

if 'see' means that they even cannot see in the sftp listing that other users exist you need a modified sftp server

3. A user cannot see the bin, etc, var...

cannot be done with the normal sftp-server. needs modifications of the sftp server. Because to start the sftp server the users needs the rights to look in these directories (otherwise the executable cannot be started). So the sftp-server should _after_starting_ simply ignore commands from the user to change into any of these directories. (b.t.w. what is the rationale to deny access to these directories? There is nothing interesting in these directories?)

4. A list of the steps taken to bring up the jail. This machine is just
for testinng. I'll follow the steps for the Production server.

If anyone is willing to help you may email me at address@hidden or call

I'm willing to help, but the modifications to the sftp-server will cost a lot of time.
