I'm not sure if the immutable flag is part of POSIX. If it was part of
POSIX, I would assume that freebsd and linux would have the same way to
manipulate the flag. So since freebsd and linux have a different way to
change the flag I assume that the flag itself is nonstandard. But I'll
look into it if python has a way to change them.
